Scottish Highland harper and singer Marie-Lousie Napier (aka 'Lullaby Nana') adds two more songs to her popular series of beautiful personalised lullabies for her baby grandchildren, These are available to download or stream from Bandcamp.

Says Marie-Louise..."I’m really excited about my two new lullabies. I wrote them for two little baby girls who arrived in the summer and autumn this year. Their parents are all wonderful musicians. So I felt inspired to write them their own lullaby… For Maggie Iseabail, and Màili Rut."

I have now added these to my full collection of lullabies on Bandcamp, so there are now SEVENTEEN in all! I wrote them for the new babies of our family and friends. My mother, Maggie Cumming, always sang lullabies to me and my siblings when we were young, and this album is a way of carrying on the tradition. I begin and end the collection with a few of these.

I loved the challenge of making 'bespoke' songs, usually based on the names of the babies. Both words and music are mine. I often created a
painting to go with each song which incorporated the lyrics in some way. Elements of these paintings can be found in the album artwork. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed writing them! Night time songs are a great comfort to children - so keep singing.

Marie-Louise Napier is a singer and harper from the Scottish Highlands. She sung with Scottish Opera in Glasgow, later returning to the Highlands with her husband to raise a family and become a well-respected music tutor and composer.
